PATHOGENESIS

  • Extensive cirrhosis and scarring of liver surface.
  • Bile ducts are distended in fibrosis in portal triads, marked proliferation of bile duct epithelium.
  • In severe cases, edema, anemia and emaciation common in hill region – dicrocoeliosis.
