• Three cavernous bodies two above are corpora cavernosa and the other below is corpus spongiosum.
• Each cavernous body is enclosed in a capsule of fibromuscular and elastic tissue from which several septa arise and form a meshwork of cavernous space.
• Urethra is lined by stratified columnar epithelium, is seen in the corpus spongiosum.
