Hohenheim system
-
This is an improved rotational grazing system developed in Germany during the First World War. In this system, the pasture is divided into many small plots of equal size.
-
Grasses are raised with application of large quantities of nitrogenous fertilizers.
-
The dairy cattle are then divided into three groups, vizx., high yielders, medium and low yeilders. They are let into the paddock by rotation so that the opportunity for grazing most nutritious immature grasses goes to the high yielders followed by medium producers and lastly low yielders.
