Compounding and dispensing of dry dressing powder

PREPARATION OF DRY DRESSING POWDER
  • Aim
    • To prepare and dispense 40 g of dry dressing powder
  • Composition
    • Boric acid 10 g
    • Zinc oxide 10 g
    • Starch 10 g
    • Talc 10 g
  • Procedure
    • The above listed ingredients are weighed. The powders are thoroughly ground but not too vigorously because heavily rubbed powders become compact. The powder from the bottom and the sides of the mortar are loosened using a large flexible spatula. The fine powder is transferred to a clean paper and folded in the pharmaceutical manner and dispensed.
