Western blotting

WESTERN BLOTTING

  • Western blotting is an analytical method wherein a protein sample is electrophoresed on an SDS-PAGE and then electrotransferred onto a nitrocellulose membrane.
  • The transferred protein on the nitrocellulose membrane is detected using specific primary antibody and secondary enzyme labeled antibody and substrate.
  • Western blotting is widely used in the protein detection. Western blotting analysis can detect one protein in a solution that contains any number of proteins and giving the protein information.
