Vaginal exfoliative cytology

• The exfoliative vaginal cytology shows predominance of superficial and cornified cells indicating estrum.
• Presence of sperms in the vaginal smear indicates mating. Sperms are observed in the vaginal smear only if the bitch is presented within 24 hours of mating.
