Impression smears

IMPRESSION SMEARS

  • Impression smears can be made for diagnostic purposes from lymph node biopsy material suspected for theileriosis, intestinal or caecal scrapings from chicken for Coccidiosis, from macrocysts of Sarcocystis sp. etc.
  • These impression smears should be air-dried, fixed with methanol and can be stained by Giemsa’s staining technique as for blood smears.
