QUALITY CONTROL LAB

  • Every semen station should have separate quality control laboratory to evaluate the semen and also to have control over the hygienic measures to be followed in the station.
  • The veterinarian incharge of quality control laboratory should have adequate knowledge and should implement all the quality control measures strictly.
  • The product ie. frozen semen should be evaluated for the quality after 24 hours of initial storage and again after 30 days of incubation before field distribution.
  • The fumigation of the main lab should be ensured by the quality control person.

Fumigation is a method of pest control. To control the microbial load inside the laboratory and semen, fumigation with formaldehyde should be carried out weekly twice at regular interval.

  • It should have adequate equipments which is required for routine operations.
  • The results of the quality control lab should be communicated for effective management of lab.
