    Protoplast culture or somatic hybridization
    Protoplast is a nacked cell without cell wall surrounded by plasma membrane and potentially of cell wall regeneration growth and division.
    It includes following steps.
    1. Isolation of protoplast.
    2. Fusion of the protoplast of the desired species or varieties.
    3. Selection of somatic hybrid cells.
    4. Culture of the hybrid cells and regeneration of hybrid plants from them.
    Applications:
    1. Used to produce symmetric hybrids and asymmetric hybrids.
    2. Hybrids can also be produced
    3. Used for anther or pollen cultures
