• Large sized, cylindrical body with a flat head
• Abdomen round scales larger
• Lower jaw shorter and eyes small
• Feeds on aquatic plants, terrestrial grass
• Feeds up to 5 times its weight per day
• Grows up to 10 kg in one year
• Max size 1.5 m/30 kg.
