Unit 9 - Plastics for Packaging
9.2.2. Ethylene vinyl acetate
Sometimes for frozen food packaging ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) which is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate (to the extent of 15%) is preferred to LDPE because it has better impact resistance and it is easier to heat seal. However, EVA is rather more expensive.
