12.1.Additives in Plastics
Additives may be needed to assist plastic processing or to improve end use performance of the finished product. Some of the additives may be added to the resin and supplied to the converter. Sometimes, the processor of plastic may add these additives. Of course, not all additives are found in one material and much skill goes into the selection of the right type and amount of additives to give specific end use or processing performance.
