14.1.13.3.1.Main advantages of lug cap

• Tightening and sealing.
• The release in obtained by a quarter turn in case of four lug and one third turn in case of three lug closure.
• Screw cap is likely to tilt but not the lug cap.
• Discontinuous threads are helpful for reducing vacuum which permits easy opening.
• Seals like plastisol or rubber liners can be used. Many times vacuum itself can hold the lug cap and the thread or lug is only for safety.
