14.1.13.7.Crimp on type
Aluminium foil on milk bottles (Even crown cap is a type of crimp-on-cap).
As previously mentioned, for proper closure and formation of seal, liners are required. Normally, following types of liners (Wads) are used.
- Laminated Corks.
- Paper and board.
- Plastic or lined with plastic.
- In case of plastics such as PVC, PP or PE or rubber closures, the closure itself acts as a liner. Therefore they are known as liner less closures.
- Plastisol dispersion of compounded PVC resin on the metal lid.
