Materials required

Onion, para dichlorobenzene, 1N. HCl, 2% Aceto-carmine stain, acetic acid, ethanol, DPX mountant, sharp blade, microscope.

i) 1N HCl - To prepare 1N HCl dilute 1 part of con. HCl with 11 parts of H₂O

ii) 2% Aceto-carmine stain – Acetic acid – 90 ml

Distilled H₂O -110 ml

Carmine dye – 1g

Boil acetic acid and distilled water and add 1g carmine dye
