Preparation of land and Spacing

    Spacing
  • In summer season, pits of size 45 x 45 x 45cm can be dug at a spacing of 1 x lm. The pit can be filled with a mixture of farmyard manure (20-25 tonnes/ha) and top soil. In rainy season raised beds or mounds are made to facilitate drainage. In river beds of North India, summer squash is a direct sown crop and sown in trenches.
