Life Span Development II: School age and Adolescence 3 (2+1)

Lesson 4 : Cognitive development during Late childhood

Change From centration to decentration

The preschool child is more prone to concentrate or center his attention exclusively on a single feature or limited portion of the stimulus array that is particularly interesting to him, there by neglecting other tasks or relevant features. On the other hand, the school age children focus on several aspects of the problem.

Ex: The brand of cars, colors of cars and the features of cars etc.
