Guava (Psidium guajava L., Myrtaceae), is hardy, aggressive, a perennial and among one of 150 species of Psidium most of which are fruit bearing trees native to tropical and subtropical America. This crop is incited by following different diseases. Major diseases 1. Wilt :Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. psidii, Minor diseases2. Fruit canker : Pestalotiopsis psidii 3. Stem canker : Physalospora psidii 4. Anthracnose: Gloeosporium psidii (=Collectotrichum psidii) 5. Red rust: Cephaleuros virescens |
