Rich sources

Vegetable oils and fats (except coconut oil) --- 32-118 mg/10

Good sources

Nuts and oil seeds(except coconut) ----10-30 mg/100g

Fair sources

Whole cereals and millets ------- 2-3 mg/100g

The cereal germ oils i.e., wheat germ oil and corn germ oil are the richest natural sources. Vegetables and fruits are good sources. Cereals and animal foods are fair sources. Since alpha tocopherol has very little biological activity, the alpha tocopherol content should be considered for calculating the human requirements.
