Physiological Functions

  • Pantothenic acid exits in animal and human tissues in the form of

    • coenzyme A (CoA)
    • Helps in the release of energy from fat

  • Essential for the growth of infants and children and also for different animals and birds.

  • Chicks fed on a diet deficient in this vitamin suffer from a specific dermatitis.

  • Pantothenic acid deficiency interferes with the hatching of eggs in the hen.
