SISIs have been set up by the government in state capitals and other big cities all over the country to render assistance in the following areas:
Guidance in financial requirements: An SISI may guide in determining the capital requirements as well as selecting the sources of raising finance.
Trade and market information: SISIs conduct market surveys and give advice regarding market conditions and demand for products to be sold.
Project Reports: SISIs help in preparing project reports which are to be submitted to licensing authorities, banks and other financial institutions for loans and credit facilities.
Training Programme: SISIs organize training programmes on establishment of an enterprise and running it. It also arranges trainings in various fields.
Modernization: They also help existing units in the modernization of production techniques by giving advice regarding its possibilities and the steps to be taken.
