Enlarging and reduction of photos

Enlarger is similar to contact printing except that enlargements are made by projecting through a lens instead of having the negative in contact with the sensitized paper. An enlarger works very much like slide projector. In addition to making big pictures from little negatives, the enlarging process allows many controls which are not possible in contact printing. With these controls you can lighten or darken areas, soften lines, add clouds or print only a selected parts of negative.
