    Introduction
    • On the basis of photochemical constituents beetle vine cultivars have been divided in to five types including Bangla and Kapoori which are the major types.
    • Importance of Betlevine
    • It is mainly used for the chewing purposes along with areca nut and lime. It has also got the medicinal value and used in curing fever, headache, liver disorder, cold, cough, kidney disorder, asthma, insect bite and also skane bite treatment.

    1. Leaf rot: Phytophthora parasitica f. piperina (Dastur)
    2. Pythium foot rot: Pythium vexans (De Bary)
    3. Leaf spot: Colletotrichum capsici (Petch)
    4. Powdery mildew: Oidium piperis (Uppal, Kamat and Patel)
    5. Bacterial leaf blight: Pseudomonas betlicola (Patel, Kulakarni and Dhande)
    6. Fusarium wilt: Fusarium oxysporum (Scchlecht)
    7. Root-Knot disease: Meloidogyne incognita
