Family life
- It is the emotional bondage of two people, covering all the bases of love, compromises, marriage, child bearing, child rising, teen age tantrums, adolescent dreams, and continues till old age.
- It describes the effect of time on a family through the phases of marriage (and divorce) and births and deaths, reflected in the family's income and consumption.
Family life cycle
- It is the physical, emotional and intellectual stages that a family passes through from family expansion to retirement years.
- The family life style determines living patterns and considers the portion of time the family and its members devote to various activities at home, and in social activities outside the household.
- The family activities includes individual activities (study, hobbies, work), private activities (dressing, bathing, personal time), work activities (meals, laundry, cleaning, gardening, school or employment interests) and leisure activities (television, computer use, games, music).
- As family members progress through different life-cycle stage, family structures and financial situations changes, so do their housing needs and preferences.
- The family life cycle is a series of stages through which a family may pass over time. Typical stages in family development include the periods of the single young adult, the newly married couple, the family with young children, the family with adolescents, launching the children and moving on, and the family in later life; as well as changes in income, expenses, and assets.
