Lesson 15:Specialised Gardens

Planning the garden

• The planning of a roof garden should nearly be similar to the one on the ground, but with limited features, like lawn, flower bed, edge, rockery, lily pool, fountain, arch, bower, lath house and the like.
• Other features like statue, sundial, aquarium, mini-zoo, etc. may be added as variety.
• Garden lights and music set-up enhance the charm of the garden.
• Small trees, small and medium shrubs and climbers may be grown in appropriate locations.
• Features like hedge, shrubbery border and big trees have little place in a roof garden.
