TECHNICAL DRAWINGS IN INTERIORS 4(1+3)
Lesson 4:Orthographic Drawings

Introduction

In architectural drawing more than one view is needed to give an accurate shape and size description of the object being drawn. These many drawings together are called as Multi View drawings. In order to represent objects on a sheet of paper in a manner that depicts the exact size, shape, and proportion we use three view drawings. They represent three views of an object as seen from different positions. Some objects can be shown in two views. It depends on the shape. The views should show the width, depth, and height of an object. Orthographic Projection is a way of drawing a 3D object from different directions. Usually a front, side and plan view is drawn so that a person looking at the drawing can see all the important sides.
