INTRODUCTION

  • Animals should be watered at least three time a day and more frequently during hot weather. They should be given enough time to drink full quantity of water.
  • Always provide cool and good quality water for drinking
  • Some important precautions to be followed while watering animals in relation feeding and exercise is that animals should be watered either one hour before or feeding concentrates as this has an important bearing on the digestion of food material.
  • Animal takes more water when watered immediately after feeding. They should not be provided water either immediately before or after feeding.
  • Some important precautions to be followed in relation to work and exercise. Animals after work must be allowed to rest sufficiently so that they can complete perspiration and respiration and the body temperature will come down.
  • Animals which are hot and panting immediately after work should not be provided very cool water
