Hemi standing and hemi walking reaction

  • The thoracic and pelvic limbs on one side lifted from the ground so that all of the animal’s weight is supported by the opposite limbs.
  • Forward and lateral walking movements are then evaluated.

Placing reaction

  • Placing is evaluated first without vision (Tactile placing) and then with vision.
  • In this test the examines support the animal’s under the thorax and covers the eyes one hand or with a blind hole.
  • The thoracic limbs are brought in contact in the edge of the table at or ventral to the carpus.
  • A normal response is immediate placement of feet on table surface in a positioned at supports weight.
