  • Field test (Rothera’s reaction) : Milk and urine can be tested. It measures only Aceto acetic acid.
    • ß hydroxybutyric acid – no reaction
    • Acetone - very little reaction
    • Primary ketosis - strong colour
    • Secondary ketosis - moderate reaction
