Public speaking

PUBLIC SPEAKING

  • An effective speech plan is a product of six action steps.
    1. Selecting a topic from a subject area
    2. Audience analysis
    3. Writing the speech goal
    4. Where to look for source of information
    5. What information to look for
    6. Recording data and citing sources
  • Effective speaking requires high-quality information. Use statistics from only the most reliable sources and double-check any statistics with another source. Use the settings and occasion to guide in selecting content and tone. Make clear ideas that create awareness to the audience in the central focus of the speech.
