What is meant by quartering Answer: Quartering means the collected soil of a sampling unit being mixed thoroughly, dividing into four equal parts and discarding two opposite quarters. This process helps in reducing the quantity of sample to the desired level and enhances homogeneity. 4. What is meant by sub sampling? State the importance. Answer: Sub sampling means a procedure to draw small quantity of soil from the soil samples stored in the laboratory for analysis. This procedure ensures a representative sample for analysis. 5. List out materials that are necessary for collecting soil samples. Answer: Spade, khurpi, augur, core sampler, test tube, bags and plastic basin. |
