Health Problems With Poor Housing

Housing as apart of environment influences health and well being of human population

  • RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS : Common cold tuberculosis, influenza, diphtheria, bronchitis. Measles whooping cough, etc.

  • SKIN INFECTIONS : Scabies, ringworm, Impetigo leprosy.

  • RAT INFESTATION : Plague.

  • ARTHROPODS : Houseflies, mosquitoes, fleas and bugs

  • ACCIDENTS : poor housing environment.

  • MORBIDITY AND MORTALITY : High morbidity & mortality rates are observed.

  • PSYCHOSOCIAL EFFECTS : The sense of isolation felt by persons living the upper floors of high buildings ,which may lead to neurosis and behavioural disorders
