Functions

  1. Zinc is vital to many biological functions such as immune response, digestion, reproduction, physical growth, diabetes control, appetite and stress level.

  2. It helps to maintain normal taste and sense of smell
    It aids in wound healing, promotes normal foetal growth and boosts immunity. By boosting the immune system, zinc also helps to protect against fungal infections and various infectious disorders, such as conjunctivitis and pneumonia.

  3. Zinc functions as an antioxidant and is involved in many decisive biochemical reactions, including enzymatic function, carbohydrate metabolism and protein synthesis.

  4. It plays an important role as a component of many enzymes regulating cell growth, DNA and protein synthesis, energy metabolism, regulation of gene transcription, hormonal levels in the body etc.

  5. It is required for fighting against skin problems such as acne, boils and sore throat and is also used as an astringent and an antiseptic for skin protection.

  6. Zinc is especially important for the health of prostate gland in males, and protects it from early damage that could lead to cancer.

  7. Zinc also promotes normal growth of foetus and development during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence.
