Interdisciplinary assessment

Assessments for infants, toddlers and preschoolers must be conducted by a multidisciplinary team from multiple disciplines. This team with help of parents must be responsible for developing IEP or IFSP.

• Multidisciplinary team - members from multiple disciplines work independently and not affected by actions of other team members.


• Interdisciplinary team – Involves greater interactions among team members, each member relaying on other for important information.


• Transdisciplinary team – Multiple disciplines work together in the initial assessment but provisions of services is conducted by one or two team members.
