Lesson 07: Socio -emotional development during early childhood period

Specific objectives

• To provide a trustworthy and secure environment for the child so that the child adjusts to the ECE centre.
• To help child form good social habits like

• Good social manners
• Sharing and cooperating with others
  
• Respecting others’ rights and property
  
• Waiting for one’s turn
  
• Independence and leadership
  
• Cooperating with the teachers and other adults

• To help the child develop a positive self concept. For this objective it is necessary to provide children with experiences:

  • Which gives them a sense of individuality and self worth, like providing name cards, calling each child by name, putting up their work on the display board with their names on the work, celebrating each child’s birthday, giving the child responsibility etc .
