Child health centre

These centres could be located in the community welfare centres, hospitals or schools both is urban and rural areas. The main functions of these clinics will be

  • Physical examination - periodical weighing of babies
  • Immunization against childhood diseases.
  • Treatment of minor ailments and manumits
  • Advices to parents to follow certain instruction given by physician, for prevention of certain diseases.
  • Referring cases requiring treatment to other medical agencies.

These clinics should also devote some time towards parents education. Once in a week, the clinic nurse arrange meeting with parents to organize techniques and discussions on child care. Periodically films, slide shows can be shown on health habits, health education etc.
