School Health Service

Child health service can function is a school setting as easy to approach children at a definite time is one group. It is convenient economical and attractive setting, where diseases are checked and public health is protected.

Important functions

  • Periodic examination to detect remediable physical defects.
  • Measuring and weighing of children which helps school teachers.
  • Checkup of teeth, eye sight, hearing etc.
  • Correction of minor defects and removal of minor ailments
  • Immunization and vaccination against contagious diseases.
  • Detecting cases of seriously handicapped children like blind, mentally retarded, deaf and dumb, crippled, tuberculosis and cardiac diseases.
  • Maintaining health records of each child which facilitates their educational records.
  • Lecturers can be arranged to provide instructions in learning hygienic habits, principles of good health, nutritional food, brushing of teeth, washing hands before meals, use of latrines etc. through videos and film, slide shows
