Treatment of expansion joints

As a special precaution the expansion joints are given additional treatment by applying chemical emulsion at the rate of 2 liters per linear meter after the sub grade for floor on either side of expansion joints has been laid. This treatment is in –addition to the treatment which is necessarily provided to the structure up to top of consolidated earth fills within plinth.
