Dams and forests

The forest is being cleared for approach roads, offices, and residential quarters and for storage of construction material for the construction of dams. There is a recurring loss in terms of timber and firewood yield per year and degradation of environment.

It is believed that larger areas of Gujarat will be irrigated and many more thousands of people will be benefited by Sardar Sarovar dam.
