Lesson 02 : Training as a Fashion Designer

Street Fashion

There is a theory called the “Trickle Up” theory which says that the fashion from the streets finds its way to the high fashion. In the past, we have seen trends like Grunge going from the streets to the runway. One of the more popular examples would be jeans. These were worn by miners as they were made of durable fabric and lasted a lot of wear and tear. This one garment has become the staple outfit for so many people across the globe.

So, observing the clothes worn on the street gives us new ideas and also an indication of what some upcoming trends might be. Some of the international street fashion pictures are available online.
