Shedding

Harnesses are raised and lowered so that the sets of warp are separated to form a ‘V’ shaped opening called as ‘Shed’. Weft yarn has to be placed in this ‘V’ shed for the purpose of interlacement. When one harness is raised, the set of warp yarn in this will raise leaving the other set of warp in the second harness below.
