Lesson 26: Synthetic Dyes

Chrome (or Mordant) Dyes

These dyes are fairly fast to light and to washing, this class is useful for producing black and navy shades for wool and silk. Use of mordant is necessary in application of the dyes. The choice of mordant is very important as different mordants can alter the final color significantly.
