Display Props

Props include all the physical elements within a display that are not salable merchandise. Their purpose is to highlight the merchandise. Three types of props are used in completing displays.

• Functional props Decorative props Structural props

Functional props: include anything that holds the merchandise such as mannequins, body forms or fixtures.

Decorative props: create a mood provide a setting for the merchandise, and adds to the attractiveness of the display.

Structural props: support the functional and decorative props. They are architectural in design and may be a permanent part of the display area such as a stairway, shelves or a window frame.
