Iodine value =  (B – A) x N x 12.69

 Where B = Titre value of the blank and

            A = Titre value of the sample.

            N  = Normality of sodium thiosulphate solution

            w = Wt. of sample in g.

Note: If B-A is greater than B/2 repeate the test using a smaller amount of sample.
