Teeth pattern
To hold the prey and grind them, fishes have developed various type of teeth. Commonly found teeth types are incisor, canine, molar and villiform. Canine Teeth Elongate conical teeth are called as canine teeth and highly predatory fishes have this type of teeth. Incisor Teeth The teeth is well-flattened with front cutting portion is called incisor. This helps to cut the food materials into smaller parts. Villiform Teeth The teeth width slentered, small relatively bands are called as villiform teeth. Molar Teeth Molar teeth are usually blunt and round in shape used for grinding the food materials. |
