Reagents

  1. Managanous sulfate (MnSO4) solution: 480g MnSO4.4H2O or 400g MnSO4.2H2O or 364 g of MnSO4 H2O is dissolved in distilled water and the volume is made upto 1l.
  2. Alkaline iodide: 500g of NaOH or 700g of KOH and 135g BaI or 150g KI is dissolved with 1l distilled water.
  3. Concentrated H2SO4
  4. Starch indicator (1%) – This should be prepared at the time of need by adding 1g starch in 1l distilled water.
  5. Sodium thiosulphate solution (0.01N) is dissolved in previously boiled distilled water and g of Na2S2O3 the volume is made upto 1l. The solution is stored in a coloured bottle and may be preserved with 2 or 3 pellets of NaOH.
