Physiology of Finfish and Shellfish (2+1)

Reagents

1. Phenolphthalein indicator
2. N/44 NaOH solution or N/22 Na₂CO₃ solution.

Preparation of reagents: Phenolphthalein indicator is prepared by dissolving 0.5g of phenolphthalein in 50ml of 95% C₂H₅OHand 50ml CO₂ free distilled water. Standard NaOH solution (N/44) is prepared by 0.91g of anhydrous NaOH dried at 145^oC and cooled in desiccators is dissolved and diluted to 1l with CO₂ free water. The standard solution should be made fresh before every use.
