Principle

The energy budget of Tilapia or any fish can be assessed by counting the activity at different concentrations of ammonia and oxygen. For different time internal, amount of oxygen consumed,ammonia excreted and activity is measured. Activity can be measured on fry’s modified respirometer. The amount of dissolved oxygen and ammonia dissolved in water can be estimated by wrinkler’s titration and In dophenol blue method respectively.
