Introduction

Radio is a mass medium of conversation and it is one of the quickest ways of communication. Many programmes useful to the farmers are broadcast in radio. Radio talk is a very popular programme that could carry useful information to the farmers. Still many people in rural areas listen to agriculture programmes broadcast by All India Radio. Hence, radio talk could be used as a popular extension teaching method.

Similarly news paper is another mass medium that enjoy patronage among various sections of the people. With growing rates of literacy, reach of news papers to the people has increased considerably. Hence, farm information can well be disseminated through newspapers.

Preparing radio talk and news stories is a skill required on the part of extension workers. Hence, these skills have to be developed among the students. The students may be given the assignments of writing contents for radio messages, radio talks and new stories under the guidance of the teacher.
