2.7.5 Television
Television is one of the most powerful media of communication. Television is an audio-visual aid used for mass communication which combines all the benefits of other mass media such as radio, newspaper and film, by virtue of the fact that people can retain the messages 50% or more when both hearing and seeing are employed. In 1975, the most momentous development in India was that the Satellite Instructional Television Experiment (SITE) was inaugurated. Now DoorDarshan has channels in all the regional languages and English. Farm programmmes are telecast by DoorDarshan as well as by several private TV channels. |
